If you touch baby bunnies will their mom kill them?
My brother’s friend has baby bunnies and they were handling them and know wondering if they are still safe? Please help… I pick the best answer who wants 10 points!
Ignore all who tell you that the mother will kill or disown the kits if they are handled. I bred my two rabbits this easter and it was just their first time, and mine’s! And I asked a question like this and the amount of replies about the mother killing them was ridiculous.
My doe, Buttons, is a very agressive and protective rabbit. If you put your hand in her hutch, she attacks you, but lucky enough I’m able to get my hand out in enough time! Anyway, when she gave birth, I made out about five kits. And the thing I realized though, was that Button’s was really, really friendly after she gave birth. If you put your fingers through the mesh she would come and like your hand for ages! So, I thought, since she was seemed to be friendly now, I would have a peek at the kits. I took Button’s out of her hutch and let her run around the house. (I keep all of my indoor pets in an unused garage, which is connected to my house and it feels just like a spare room) I took a peek in the nest and moved the actual physical nest (Like the fur, straw etc.) and found there were seven kits, all alive and moving around. They were only one day old and I would have a peek at them everyday until they were five days old. I then gently started to pet them. To start with they felt weird and I hated the feeling of their fuz! But anyway, at nine days old, I started to take them out and hold them all for a few minutes and put them back in the nest. During all of this, Button’s kept caring for them and was still friendly to me too, so it was great!
Okay, so the weeks past on and none of them died. By the time they were four weeks old, they were in my house, on my bed, hopping around. It was them I taught them not to bit. I let them nibble me constantly until they realized it didn’t do nothing, and then they started to lick! And by the time they were eight weeks old they were old sold and taken away to their new homes 
I miss them like crazy! But I know they’re all having fun and I’m delighted that I’d been speaking to one of the lady’s who bought one of the bunnies, and she bought her for her three-year-old and she said that they’d had a rabbit before from a pet shop and it was vicious but the bunny I sold them was the sweetest rabbit they could ever have!
So my point is, rabbit’s, which are sold from pet shop’s and breeder’s who don’t handle the kits, are not as friendly as breeder’s who do handle the kits. Because what handling does, is allows the bunnies to get used to it and love it, therefore making an EXCELLENT pet 
So no, tell your brother’s friend that they should keep handling! But beware, I was peed on a few times by the bunnies! xD
