Silly Circus

Where can I find OOP books used in Five in a Row?
It seems silly to pay a lot of money for a childs book. But there are a few I just can’t seem to locate. Like “The Giraffe That Walked to Paris”; “Henry the Castaway”; and “Andy and the Circus”! If someone could help. Thanks!
I have looked @ the library, EBay, and the local bookstore.
go to www.amazon.com——-I know they have Andy and the Circus there and you might find the others also.

Find Chaffy $7.99 Before solving the mystery that”s posed in this very unusual picture-packed book, kids will want to know that Chaffies are white and round, with smiling faces. Chaffies have only one and a half ears–the result of a lawnmower accident–and they aren”t very intelligent. Ten silly Chaffies have wandered off into the big, wide world, and have become totally lost. Boys and girls who open this book must find them–and the only way to find them is by studying the humorous color illustrations that fill ten two-page-spreads. Each illustration is filled with a maze of amusing creatures, and each creature looks a little bit like a Chaffy. One Chaffy is lost among a colony packed with pandas, another is hidden among hundreds of cats at the Kitty Circus, and still another Chaffy is wandering among a flock of graveyard ghosts. The hunt and the fun goes on for many more pages in a book that promises to keep kids amused for hours. |

Love and Other Games of Chance: A Novelty $3.05 The flamboyant hero of this zany, wildly comic novel is Isaac Schlossberg–circus performer, entertainer, world traveler. The son of Jewish immigrants who arrived in America at the turn of the last century, Isaac spends his formative years in California, working sideshows, Wild West jamborees, and early films, before going on to India, England, Paris, Hollywood, and perhaps even to the top of Mt. Everest. Isaac organizes the tall tales of his past into one hundred chapters or squares–like those on the children’s game of Snakes and Ladders. As he travels, he moves through erotic love affairs with, among others, a Jewish tightrope walker, the daughter of a Hindu snake charmer, and a mystical British aviatrix. Raucous and inventive, this three-ring circus of a novel is at once silly and grand, absurd yet full of meaning. |

The Pythons $16.96 Over thirty years ago, a group of five Englishmen and one wayward American, re-wrote the rules of comedy. Monty Python’s Flying Circus, an unheralded, previously unseen and practically unprogrammed half hour of sketches, hilarities, inanities and animations first appeared on the BBC late one night in 1969. Its impact on the world has been felt ever since. From its humble beginnings as late night entertainment on a British TV channel that went off the air before midnight, it blossomed into arguably the most influential movement in modern comedy. They found the Holy Grail, they detailed the life of the Savior-also-ran Brian, and when we were lost, they explained The Meaning of Life. Now, those purveyors of dead parrots and silly walks are going to tell us something more: Their story. In their own, intimate, never before heard words. The Pythons by The Pythons is the definitive word on all things Pythonesque (the only word invented by a modern comedian which is listed in the Oxford English Dictionary.) 30 years of insight, hindsight, and bad sight – now told for the first time. Stuff they’re never remembered before alongside stories they’d forgotten to say, coupled with things they couldn’t say then and even more things they can’t pronounce now (with a healthy dollop of things they would never have said in the first place if any others had been in the room at the time.) The Pythons by The Pythons is a unique look at arguably the most important comic team of the modern age, lavishly illustrated with 1000 photographs and illustrations, many culled from the teams’ own personal collections, many seen here for the first time. A tome, a tombstone, the definitive word on allthings Python, as told by all things Python – do you want Spam with that? |

Over thirty years ago a group of five Englishmen and one wayward American rewrote the rules of comedy. Monty Python’s Flying Circus, an unheralded half-hour of sketches, hilarities, inanities, and animations first appeared on the BBC late one night in 1969. Its impact on the world has been felt ever since. This audio edition is a complilation of unique never-before-heard interviews with the Python team conducted by Bob McCabe while he researched the Python book, plus clips from the famous Monty Python sketches, including The Parrot Sketch, Nudge, Nudge, Wink Wink, Spam and the Ministry of Silly Walks. Narration will be by Bob McCabe with Terry Gilliam and Michael Palin, and featuring Eric Idle, John Cleese and Terry Jones.
