baby bumpers ok or not???
Okay so I purchased the Cocalo Sugar Plum Crib Bedding Set from Babies R’ Us. It comes with the sheets, valence, dust ruffle, diaper stacker, quilt, and bumper. My question is, I heard that you are not supposed to put bumpers in the baby’s crib as they have been a cause of SIDS…and the same goes for the quilt. So…is it even worth the money to have bought this, considering I can’t use the bumpers or the quilt (maybe i can use the quilt for decoration??). Is it ok to put the bumpers up once they are able to have full control of themselves, like around one year old?
help someone I’m lost on this one!! if i wasted my money i want to just take it back…but i love the set it’s so beautiful
It’s a 50/50 decision on whether or not baby bumpers are safe. Some will tell you that they are not safe at all and are only decorative while others will say that it’s fine to use them.
I think that the key to using them is to make sure they are tied down firmly to your crib and to cut off any excess strings that are showing. I personally bought a Hello Kitty bedding set from Baby Depot that I love and am planning on using the baby bumpers. I however am going to make sure that my little girl is safe and I will either use a sleep bag to put her in, or a sleep positioner until she’s a little bit older. I don’t want her to be close to the bumpers.
