Dealing with an “unexcited” husband?

Did anyone ever feel as though their partner just wasn’t as excited about the pregnancy as they were? I mean, our pregnancy was not planned (honeymoon baby) and it has been an adjustment, but I am still ecstatic.

Yesterday I secretly ordered our crib bedding off Amazon and had it delivered today. I put the nursery all together; bedding on, some wall hangings up, and a valance. My husband comes home from work and goes. “Why did you get this? Isn’t this a registry item?” Stares at it like I ruined his life, and slumps out of the room.

I just feel hurt. Did anyone else have partners like this?

Congrats on your pregnancy! Based on the “registry” comment, maybe he is worried about how things will work financially once baby gets here. Maybe he wants to save all possible money. Has he been to the doctors? Heard the heartbeat? Are you showing yet? Maybe he just doesn’t feel the pregnancy is real? Maybe he is concerned he isn’t ready to be a dad? You might want to ask him about his feelings… it’s hard for people who don’t know you (or him) to come up with definitive reasons.
