How do I remove or uninstall a mod-chip from my PSone?
I live in Jamaica and video games are too expensive so bought the PSone in America in December 2000. I got two European games from my sister and I cannot play them, so I gave the system to an electronics store and they “fixed it” by putting a mod-chip in the system so that it can read it. Now I can’t play my Dino Crisis because a banner in the Japanese language pops up on the screen probably saying i can’t play it because of the mod-chip. The European games are now readable to the system but the screen jumps because I need a certain type of television to play it on (the irony). So how do I remove the Mod-chip myself from the system so I can play my Dino Crisis.
If you have no experience in hardware modification or even basic chips installation, forget that, you’ll just blow your PSone. The problem with the TV is that Europe uses PAL tv (A kind of decoding) and other places use NTSC (another kind of decoding) and the two aren’t very… compatible.

The lone Big Star record to merit the full participation of founder Chris Bell, the brightly produced #1 Record splits the songwriting credits evenly between him and Alex Chilton (in the tradition of Lennon-McCartney). But from the beginning, the group is tearing apart at the seams: Bell and Chilton’s relationship seems less a working partnership than a battle of wills, and each possesses his own distinctive vision. The purist, Bell crafts electrifying and melodic classic pop like “Feel” and “In the Street,” while Chilton, the malcontent, pens luminous, melancholy ballads like “The Ballad of El Goodo” and “Thirteen.” Ultimately, their tension makes #1 Record brilliant. However, Radio City shifts gears dramatically: Bell is largely absent (though he guests, uncredited, on a few tracks, including the wonderful “Back of a Car”), allowing Chilton’s darker impulses free reign. From the raucous opener “O My Soul” onward, the new Big Star is noisier, edgier, and even more potent. Erratic mixing, spotty production, shaky performances — by all rights, Radio City should be a failure, yet Chilton is at his best when poised on the brink of disaster, and the songs hang together seemingly on faith and conviction alone.
