Moving my 2 1/2 yr old girl from crib to toddler bed and how to keep her from roaming while we sleep?
We’ll be doing it in the next couple weeks and I was also wondering how you manage potty training at the same time
I would only do one thing at a time.Either do the move or the potty training.You just may overwhelm your child and get a negative response.
Start with the bed thing.Put up a baby gate or simply get up when your baby does.
If it is night time,keep directing your child to her new bed.Explaining that it is time to sleep.Do not go into a long conversation,Just keep it short and sweet.Consistency is the key here.
Once this is well established and your child is sleeping well and staying in her bad,then try and train her to use the potty.I suggest a seat that goes onto the toilet instead of the floor.One less step to have to go through.Make sure you get lots of pads for the bed and let her pick out her own big girl under ware.You will have more success this way.Good luck.
