How can my dog & cat learn to get along ?

The cat is 5, the dog is 1 year old.

Hello, Good luck with everything well the reason I guess that your dog and cat are not getting along is because the dog has overlasy never been around cats and it like people that are not brought up with animals or with certain animals Like I own alot of animals lol and my cat dog and horse are in the same yard most days and they never fight so I would recommend you watch them when they are together and reward the dog when it has been behaved around the cat
other wise the cat will be scared of dog’s it whole life so take the time and let them get use to each other reward when the dog has been well behaved and address bad behaver by muby taking away a fav toy or they may have to be lock out side if are alot insde muby loc them out for a hour and then let them back into the house . if they do it again lock them out side all night but if you do make sure they have frsh water at lease some dry food and some warm bedding and a soft toy or something but they are jusr suggestions lol ot
