Toy recommendation for 4-yr old who likes maps – what should I get him?

I have a nephew who will be turning 4 in mid-December. He is obsessed with maps and loves to travel. I thought about getting him a globe for his birthday or Christmas, but am concerned that a globe might be a little boring to him and he might not really understand it. (I don’t have any kids of my own and we only see him 2-3 times per year, so I’m not entirely sure of the developmental curve for kids his age.) Any suggestions, either general or specific?

They make globes for kids that talk when you press on them. I think they might be Leapfrog? Anyway, they have a pen thing that you touch on the globe and it will say the name of the country. Or maybe one of these:
